Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura — the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. It is the world's largest peaceful gathering, with over 20 million pilgrims converging on Karbala.
The Walking Path
Pilgrims walk between the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Hazrat Abbas, and along the 80km path from Najaf to Karbala — a journey of devotion and community.
The Mawakeb
Along the way, volunteers set up stations (Mawakeb) offering free food, water, rest, and medical care — a breathtaking display of selfless hospitality.
